The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire in a Solano Park apartment that broke out on Saturday night (May 8). 51�� will share the results once the investigation has been completed.

The 51�� Fire Department responded to the campus’s Solano Park Apartment at about 11:30 that night.

The University of California, Davis, has informed the city of Davis that it will end the agreement for shared management of the campus and city fire departments. 51�� Fire Chief Nathan Trauernicht has led both since Jan. 1, 2014.

Kelly Ratliff, 51��’ interim lead for Finance, Operations and Administration, gave formal notice of the decision to end the agreement in a Feb. 1 letter to City Manager Dirk Brazil.
